15-20km per day is pretty typical of most conventional swim programs.
On the other hand there are a few non-conventional coaches who run
successful programs on a 5-10km basis. Golden Girl: How Natalie
Coughlin Fought Back, Challenged Conventional Wisdom, and Became
America's Swimming Champion by Michael Silver is an excellent
treatise of the insanity of swimming programs.
