[Supertraining] Re: Counterintuitive Fatloss... one more thing.

One more thing I should say. If you think I am overestimating the
extent to which refined carbs drive hunger, try not eating them for a
while.

I have experimented with many types of dieting in detail. I have
gained and lost substantial weight a few times in the past, mostly
when I did not yet discriminate against processed carbs. Even on a
diet with a strict ratio of only 40% carbs, in order to lose weight I
always had to get very hungry several times per day. In order to lose
2 pounds per week, I actually had to get out a timer and force myself
to wait an hour to eat after I was already really hungry before most
meals. It worked, but it required extreme discipline.

Now that I have nearly eliminated processed carbs and drastically
reduced whole grain food, I find myself losing weight without ever
being particularly hungry. In fact, I have found that I have a
problem with under-eating if I don't pay attention. Conversely, I ate
a doughy piece of pizza the other day, and it made me feel hyper for
about 45 minutes or so, followed by the rapid onset of a feeling of
queasiness, weakness, and muscle tremors. I had to eat another meal
of real food and wait another hour or so before I was able to do my
planned workout, and the workout still kinda sucked.

I suggest that anyone with any propensity towards being overweight at
all (i.e. are an "endomorph") try this dietary change for themself.
Once you do, you won't need the abstract arguments any more.
