How about the Coachella Valley. You could stay at the Fair Grounds in
Indio, that has a nice campground on the cheap, or you might opt for one of
the Resorts that abound in that area. Enjoy the tram ride out of Palm
Springs. Do a tour of the wind generator farm, Drive up to Joshua Tree Nat
Monument, or drive the Pines to Palms Highway SR 74 high into the
mountains and back, or drive out to the Salton Sea. Or you could just head
down to that swank shopping area in Palm Desert or is it Rancho Mirage.
