Hi Lyn, thanks for replying back. I've asked the members of the CRF
group about a more sensitive thyroid test. We'll see what they say.
None of my vets have said anything about Petuly being anemic. I
have started her on a vitamin B complex with Iron and I'm giving her
a chicken liver each day. No more than 1/2 tspn.
She lost 3 ounces not 3 lbs Lyn so I hope you didn't freak out
thinking she had lost 3 lbs.
The second weight in was definitely taken after a large poop.
I don't know if she gets weighted in the same scale as they go to a
veterinary school animal hospital and my husband takes them in.
Atenolol can push a cat into CHF? Is that what the doctor meant by
breathing problems? Instead of calling them I should just rush her
to the nearest hospital? The animal hospital we go to is about 30
mins from our home but there are others at maybe 10 - 15 minutes
from us.
I imagine the Atenolol dose prescribed takes the cat's age and
weight into consideration? Is a .4ml dose a small one? I just put
my hand over her little heart and it does beat pretty fast. Of
course she's only had two doses of the Atenalol so far. How soon
should her HR slow down?
Thank you!
